At ZieZo we like to keep things easy for you. We have 1 low-cost basic insurance. You can go to any contracted hospital in the Netherlands. The costs are reimbursed 100%, except for your mandatory excess.

The discount is 1% for an annual payment and 0.5% if you pay per twice a year.

Excess

If you need regular care, opt for the standard excess of € 385. Do you expect to incur few medical expenses? And do you have € 885 in your savings account for when you need it? Then select a higher excess and pay a lower premium.

Useful info: you don’t pay excess for example, for your GP and care for children under 18.

Children up to 18 are insured too

Children up to the age of 18 are insured on your basic insurance and the supplementary insurance too. You don’t pay a premium for them. Does your partner have more extensive supplementary insurance? If so, add your children to your partner’s insurance. Then they will get the same supplementary package.

Did you know that you don’t pay excess for children under 18? Sometimes you pay a personal contribution. But most of the care for your child is fully reimbursed.

ZieZo is the online version of Zilveren Kruis. With ZieZo you can arrange as much as possible online: from submitting claims to ordering medicine. That is how we can offer such competitive premiums. Do you want to have children? Or does your child need braces? Then insurance from Zilveren Kruis might be a better option for you.

  • You can go to all contracted hospitals. Care covered by the basic insurance is reimbursed 100%, except for your mandatory excess.
  • You can arrange healthcare matters online through Mijn Zilveren Kruis or our app. You can contact us through chat and WhatsApp.
  • You should preferably order medicines online. You can do this through any contracted pharmacy.
  • Some medical devices can only be ordered online, through a small number of suppliers.
  • Choice of 2 supplementary insurance policies and 1 dental insurance policy.
  • No reimbursement for maternity care or orthodontic care.

Frequently asked questions

ZieZo is online insurance. What does that mean?

With ZieZo, you will do everything possible online. You submit your bills with your smartphone via the Zilveren Kruis-app or via Mijn Zilveren Kruis. You can order medicine online. And for 100% reimbursement you order certain medical devices online. Information available in Dutch only.

Prefer a wider choice? The Zilveren Kruis insurances are more extensive.

Zilveren Kruis basic healthcare insurance

Can I get ZieZo basic insurance without a DigiD?

Yes. But we don’t recommend it. You will need a DigiD to see your policy certificate or submit a claim. Without a DigiD, you can only ask for information by telephone.

Can I go to my own physio, hospital and other healthcare providers?

With ZieZo Basis you can go to any hospital.

Is your favourite healthcare provider or hospital not contracted? You can still go there, but you will get a lower reimbursement: maximum 75% of the average rate we have agreed with the contracted care providers. You will pay 25% in addition to your excess.

When can I switch over to you?

It's great that you want to switch to ZieZo! Usually, you can switch as of 1 January. In that case, you need to cancel your previous insurance by 31 December.

In some cases, you can also switch to our insurance sooner. For example, if you are coming out the military service. Or if you come to live here from abroad and you are entitled to Dutch basic insurance. If this is the case, contact us.
